Girl and Boy Scouts Collect 25,000 Pounds of Food Over Easter Weekend

It was a busy weekend for local Boy and Girl Scouts, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

They spent the Easter weekend picking up food for the hungry, gathering food from homes all across Bexar County.

Boy Scout Xavier Moreira says its part of what Scouts do."

We don't want to be paid or anything," he said.  "It's just something that we do."

The scouts ended up collecting an amazing 25,000 pounds of food, which will be distributed by the San Antonio Food Bank.

"It makes me feel happy for families that don't have enough food," Girl Scout Josie Smith said.
