Police say a man shot his girlfriend this morning to stop her from walking out on him, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The couple was staying at a motel in the 1100 block of Austin Highway when they argued in their room about 12:30 this morning.
Police say the 28 year old woman managed to get out of the motel room and down the steps, before the boyfriend caught up with her and shot her in the stomach.S
She was rushed to SAMMC where she was pronounced dead.
The boyfriend sped away, but police obviously know who he is.
