A 36 year old San Antonio man has been arrested for kidnapping his non custodial child in an attempt to take the child to Iraq, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The 8 year old girl lives in Brownsville with the child's mother, but the custodial agreement calls for Al Gebory to have weekend custody.
The U.S. Attorney says Ismail Khaleel Al Gebory picked up the girl for his regular weekend visits on February 17th, but instead of returning the child as scheduled, Al Gerbory fled to Mexico City.
In Mexico City, federal investigators say Al Gebory attempted to obtain an Iraqi passport for the child.
The FBI says Al Gebory has relates in Iraq.
The child has been safely returned to the mother in Brownsville. Al Gebory is charged with intentional parental kidnapping and is held in Houston.
