Max Stassi and Derek Fisher hit back-to-back solo homers in the seventh inning to lift the Astros past the Athletics 4-1 in Oakland. The home runs made a winner of Gerrit Cole, who tossed six innings of one-run ball. Cole struck out nine to improve to 4-and-1 on the year. Ken Giles pitched a perfect ninth for his fifth save. Yuli Gurriel added a two-run double in the eighth as Houston swept the three-game series. Jed Lowrie's RBI double in the sixth gave the A's a brief 1-0 lead. Daniel Mengden took the loss. Oakland had won three in-a-row before this series.
