Mysterious Blue Snow Falls on Russian City

If you think the frigid temperatures blasting parts of the United States  this week are bad, imaging living in St. Petersburg, Russia, where the  city was covered by unexplained blue snow!

The unsettling coating of azure raised concerns among residents that  perhaps the snow had become colored by some kind of pollutant.

Particularly troubling is that a chemical research facility had recently  been demolished in the city, leaving some to wonder if that event may  have somehow been the source of the blue hue found in the snow.
