Critics Slam New 'Scooby-Doo' Movie for 'Cursing' Daphne with Being 'Fat'

The latest direct-to-video Scooby-Doo movie, Scooby-Doo! Frankencreepy, is being slammed by some critics for the plot having the character Daphne put under a "curse" that makes her overweight -- going from a "size two to a size eight." There are a few complaints: size eight isn't exactly huge; the way "fat" Daphne appears is way larger than a size eight; and, most importantly, the wrong message is being sent to young girls watching. Tom Burns wrote at The Good Men Project website, "It's sad to think that my daughter can't even watch a cartoon about a dog solving mysteries without negative body stereotypes being thrown in her face."
