A school in Richmond, Virginia named for a Confederate leader has made a really big change and it honors the 44th President of the United States.

Yesterday the Richmond School Board voted 6 to 1 to rename J.E.B. Stuart Elementary School to Barack Obama Elementary School.

The lone holdout was pushing for more local names to be considered while another board member said he hopes they're done renaming buildings and can start renovating them.

Do you find it quite symbolic that, Richmond, the former capital of the Confederate States of America, will have a school honoring America’s first black president?
