Former President Donald Trump briefly spoke about abortion with reporters after landing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Wednesday (April 10).
Trump was asked if a recent decision by Arizona judges codifying a 150-year-old law that bans all abortions except in cases when the mother's life is in danger went too far.
"Yeah, they did," Trump replied. "That'll be straightened out, and as you know, it's all about states' rights," he added, reiterating his previous stance on the abortion debate.
Trump said that he expects "the governor and everyone else are going to bring it back into reason, and that will be taken care of, I think, very quickly."
Another reporter asked him if he would sign a federal abortion ban.
Trump flatly answered, "No."
"You wouldn't sign it?" the reporter followed up.
Trump again replied, "No."
Trump was in Atlanta to attend a campaign fundraiser. Former U.S. Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, as well as Republican mega-donor Bernie Marcus, will attend the luncheon, which costs a minimum of $6,600 per couple. The fundraiser is expected to raise at least $5 million for Trump's campaign.
