TxDOT Installing 21-Mile Stretch Of Highway For Driverless Trucks

TxDOT is working with a startup company to create a corridor for self-driving trucks on a Texas highway. The "smart freight corridor" is being set up on a 21-mile stretch of State Highway 130 between Georgetown and Del Valle. A TxDOT spokesman says the project will include cameras, radar, and other communication hardware to improve the performance of self-driving freight vehicles. Working with TxDOT is Cavnue, a company that builds technologically advanced road for improved safety and efficiency.
