A local teachers' union is unhappy with San Antonio ISD's proposal to close 19 of its schools. Alejandra Lopez, president of the San Antonio Alliance, said she believes the district is overdoing it. On Tuesday, district officials listed the 19 schools that may be shut down, most of which are elementary schools. The plan calls for schools to be merged, and students and teachers to be relocated. The school will vote on the final plan in November, after another round of public input.
