A murder suspect is hospitalized in San Antonio after a police chase ended in a shootout at a Walmart store.

Police say a Bandera County sheriff's deputy was trying to arrest the man on murder warrant when he fled, leading to a chase.

It ended at the Walmart store in the 8000 block of Bandera Road in northwest San Antonio with the suspect exchanging gunshots with the deputy in the parking lot.

The suspect was shot in the shoulder and then fled inside the store where more shots were fired. No one inside the store was injured and the suspect later surrendered. He is now hospitalized in stable condition.
