Astros Complete Sweep Of Rangers In Arlington

The Astros belted five home runs on the way to a 12-3 win over the Rangers at Globe Life Field. Jose Abreu went deep twice, while Yordan Alvarez, Michael Brantley and Chas McCormick also homered to help Houston complete the three-game sweep. Astros starter Justin Verlander picked up his 11th win after tossing six strikeouts and allowing two runs, one earned, through seven frames. Houston is leading the AL West at 80-and-61. Rangers starter Max Scherzer was charged the loss after he let up seven runs in three innings. Marcus Semien hit two home runs as Texas fell to 76-and-63. The Astros return home to host the San Diego Padres tomorrow night while the Rangers welcome the Oakland A's to Arlington.
