San Antonio Police Officer Shot By Suspect

 A San Antonio police officer was shot by a suspect who was wanted on several felony warrants. It happened on the city's southwest side near Iroquois Street and Ute Street.

Police Chief William McManus says the suspect was wanted on Aggravated Assault and Repeat Violation of Protective Order warrants and shot the officer with a shotgun as he tried to pull him over.

The officer is hospitalized after undergoing surgery. The suspect was later taken into custody.
