The Census Bureau says people born in Texas are more likely to stay in their home state than people born anywhere else in the U.S. The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas released data on Tuesday that showed about 82% of native Texans still lived here in 2021. That makes for a stable population and growing workforce in the state. Texas led the nation in new jobs created for the 12-months ending in July, and the unemployment rate is just over 4%. Housing costs in Texas are relatively affordable compared to other states.
