Astros Lose Series Opener To Mariners

Houston dropped its series opener to the Mariners. The Astros fell to Seattle 5-1 in an AL West battle at Minute Maid Park. Corey Julks led the way at the plate, going 3-for-3 with one RBI. Starting pitcher Ronel Blanco was charged his first loss of the season after striking out nine and allowing three earned runs through six frames. The Astros had their four-game winning streak snapped and fell to 49-and-39. They will send right-hander Hunter Brown to the mound against Seattle tonight.
