A VIA project office for the city's first Advanced Rapid Transit Corridor is now open. Mayor Ron Nirenberg joined VIA President and CEO Jeff Arndt, Housing Secretary Henry Cisneros, and other officials at the opening of the office on Wednesday. The San Antonio City Council and the VIA Board of Trustees are working together to move the Advanced Rapid Transit North-South Corridor to its scheduled completion in 2027. Construction on the corridor is set to begin in 2025. Until then, the new office will provide information to the community.
