The new state budget includes a $400 million allocation for the Alamo redevelopment plan. The master plan includes street closures, a new museum, plaza improvements, an artifact collection, and education centers. The total estimated cost is more than $500 million. The nonprofit Alamo Trust will need to raise the remaining funds. A spokesperson says the state's commitment to the project should help convince private donors to contribute.
