Governor Greg Abbott says he will veto a watered-down bill to offer school vouchers in Texas. Abbott on Sunday threatened to call legislators back for special sessions if they don't get it right. The House Public Education Committee is scheduled to hold a public hearing today on Senate Bill 8, which passed the Senate more than a month ago. The version of the bill before the committee today would reduce voucher eligibility to students with disabilities or those who attend F-rated campuses. That adds up to fewer than a million students in Texas.
