A measure to make illegal voting a felony in Texas again now has the approval of the state House of Representatives. House members gave their final approval on Friday to a bill that reverses the downgrading of illegal voting to a misdemeanor in 2021. The Senate has passed a similar bill. The two versions of the bill differ in the ways they define whether a person can be prosecuted for deliberately voting illegally. The two chambers will have to try to hammer out the difference.
