The Uvalde CISD school board is naming its new interim police chief. Board members voted on Wednesday evening to hire Josh Gutierrez as the new interim police chief for the district. The vote was unanimous but for one abstention. District Police Chief Pete Arredondo was fired nearly three-months ago for his response to the Robb Elementary shooting on May 24th. Uvalde CISD interim Superintendent Gary Patterson says he recommended Gutierrez based on his background in both law enforcement and education.
