Texas authorities are investigating if some of the victims of the Uvalde school shooting could have survived had police acted sooner. Three students and a teacher who were shot on the day of the attack last May were still alive when they were rescued from the school. The Texas Tribune says the chief medical officer for the city of Austin is investigating the injuries of those victims to determine if there "may have been opportunities to save lives had emergency medical care been provided sooner." Nearly 400 law officers responded to the shooting, but none entered the classroom where the children were shot for over an hour.
