Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is getting support for his fight against a whistleblower lawsuit. According to the Texas Tribune, Governor Greg Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick have written friend of the court briefs asking the Texas Supreme Court to hear Paxton's appeal of the case. Four of eight former employees in the AG's office filed the lawsuit in 2020, claiming they were fired or forced to leave the department because they accused Paxton of bribery and abusing his office. The governor and lieutenant governor said the Court should hear the case because of its statewide relevance.
