Former Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo is about to lose his job as chief of the Miami Police. Miami City Manager Art Noriega announced on Monday that he had suspended Acevedo "with the intent to terminate his employment." After more than four years as chief of the HPD, Acevedo took the Miami job in March. Within five months, some unpopular decisions involving top brass at the MPD, along with some gaffes he made, ended Acevedo's honeymoon. Noriega said Acevedo's relationship with the department is "beyond repair."
