Texas Supreme Court Extends Non-Eviction Program To October 1st

The Texas Supreme Court is extending a state eviction diversion program created in response to the pandemic. The court released an emergency order on Monday extending the program's expiration date from July 27th to October 1st. Governor Greg Abbott announced the creation of the Texas Eviction Diversion Program last September. Abbott said the state would use 171 million dollars in federal CARES Act money to pay for rental and utility assistance and legal services for Texans facing eviction.
