Bexar County courts are dealing with a backlog of 35-thousand criminal cases due to the pandemic shutdowns. One high-profile case involves D'Lanny Chairez, the 20-year-old mother charged with evidence tampering in the case of her missing baby. The child has since been found dead. Chairez's hearing is set for June 16th. The capital murder trial of Otis McKane starts July 12th. McKane is accused of the 2016 murder of SAPD detective Benjamin Marconi. It's the county's first death penalty case in five-years.
