Supreme Court Rejects Texas Lawsuit To Overturn Election Results

The U.S. Supreme Court is dealing another blow to President Trump's fight against the 2020 election outcome. The high court rejected a lawsuit brought forth by Texas' Attorney General to block millions of votes in battleground states. The legal action was supported by Trump and over 120 House Republicans.

“It is unfortunate that the Supreme Court decided not to take this case and determine the constitutionality of these four states’ failure to follow federal and state election law," said Attorney General Ken Paxton. "I will continue to tirelessly defend the integrity and security of our elections and hold accountable those who shirk established election law for their own convenience.”

Texas GOP Chairman Allen West was critical of the Supreme Court's ruling. "The Supreme Court, in tossing the Texas lawsuit that was joined by seventeen states and 106 US congressman, have decreed that a state can take unconstitutional actions and violate its own election law. Resulting in damaging effects on other states that abide by the law, while the guilty state suffers no consequences," said West. "This decision establishes a precedent that says states can violate the US constitution and not be held accountable. This decision will have far reaching ramifications for the future of our constitutional republic. Perhaps law-abiding states should bond together and form a Union of states that will abide by the constitution.”
