State Democrats Plan To Probe Electoral Failure In Texas

The Texas Democratic Party is trying to figure out why it took such a beating in the state in last month's elections. More than three-dozen executive committee members wrote to party chair Gilberto Hinojosa demanding answers. Hinojosa has appointed a committee to look into why Texas Democrats fell far short of expectations in November. President Donald Trump carried the state by six percentage points, and GOP Senator John Cornyn was reelected by ten-points. Democrats picked up none of the ten U.S. House seats they'd targeted, and they failed to flip the state House when they gained one seat but lost another.
