Former Austin Library Worker Allegedly Stole $1.3 Million In Printer Toner

A former employee with the Austin Public Library is accused of stealing more than a million dollars worth of printer toner. Officials say Randall Whited allegedly bought at least $1.3 million worth of toner using library issued credit cards, and sold it online. Whited is also accused of using the credit cards to buy more than $15,000 in electronics. The library said it is taking measures to prevent another incident like this, including a limitation on the number of employees who have access to city credit cards.
