Court Tosses Lawsuit Over Pandemic Provisions In Geriatric Prison

The U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals is tossing out a lower court's temporary ruling concerning pandemic provisions at a state prison for older inmates. Two inmates at the Pack Unit near Navasota sued in March, claiming they weren't adequately protected from the virus. A district judge on Friday ordered state officials to provide inmates face masks and hand sanitizer, among other measures. The appeals court pointed out that the Texas Department of Criminal Justice had already met many of the district judge's orders.
