The Austin police chief says he will still enforce marijuana laws the day after the city council unanimously voted to stop punishing low-level pot offenses. Chief Brian Manley said marijuana is still illegal and that police will continue to enforce the laws around it. The vote by the city council came as a result of a new Texas law that changed the rules and regulations around hemp last summer. The law changed the definition of marijuana to cannabis that contains more than three-percent of the psychoactive compound THC.
