A man is dead after taking his own life during a police child sex sting in McAllen. A police statement says the incident happened yesterday near La Vista Avenue when the man showed up after making an appointment for a sexual encounter with someone he was led to believe would be an underage person. In reality, the situation was set up by undercover police investigators who were there and tried arresting the suspect at the scene. The suspect resisted officers and then took out a handgun from a holster and shot himself in the head.
