Democratic Candidates Discuss Immigration During Texas Debate

Democratic Presidential Candidates Participate In Third Debate In Houston

2020 presidential candidates are discussing immigration in America at the third Democratic Debate. Speaking in Houston, former Vice President Joe Biden says there needs to be a change to the asylum rules. Former Housing Secretary Julian Castro says he is not afraid to face President Trump on this issue and he has built his presidency on "scapegoating and fear mongering." Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren says immigration makes us stronger and she plans to expand legal immigration and create a pathway to citizenship that is fair and achievable. South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg says he has a plan in place to establish community renewal visas that will embrace immigration. Former Texas Congressman Beto O'Rourke says he wants to rewrite the Trump immigration laws that have caged people and make sure justice is found for the seven lives lost under U.S. custody.
