Texas smoking age set to increase

Cigarette in hand

The legal smoking age in Texas is being raised from 18 to 21. Governor Greg Abbott signed a bill making it illegal for anybody under the age of 21 to buy or use any tobacco product, including e-cigarettes. The legislation exempts military members with an active ID. They can still purchase tobacco at 18. The law goes into effect in September.
