Man Dies When He Runs a Stop Sign on South Side

A 31 year old man was killed overnight when he ran a stop sign on the city's south side, smashed into a police car, and then smashed into a house, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say the driver of the Ford F-150 disregarded the stop sign at Tupper and West Southcross.

He then sideswiped a patrol car being driven by Officer Jesus Aguirre, who was driving through the intersection.

The pickup then went out of control and crashed into the porch of a home.

Neither the officer nor anybody inside the house was hurt, but the driver was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
