McDonald's plans to test alternatives  to plastic straws in the U.S this year.  The move comes amid the movement to eventually stop the use of plastic straws because they're so  difficult to recycle. McDonald's says it has started already started  testing alternatives in Belgium and will soon expand the tests to  France, Sweden, Norway and Australia.  By next year, the fast food chain  said it will roll out paper straws in over one-thousand restaurants in  the U.K. and Ireland.
