Apartment Resident Stabbed While Investigating Car Burglars

A man is clinging to life after he attempted to confront three men who were breaking into cars in the parking lot of his northeast side apartment, only to be stabbed multiple times by one of the suspects, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police were called to the Ashford Tanglewood Apartments in an upscale neighborhood near New Braunfels and Brees shortly after midnight.

When they arrived, they were told that the 29 year old victim saw the men 'lurking around in the parking lot' and believed they were burglarizing vehicles.

When he went downstairs to confront the men, he found they were armed with a knife and a rifle.

The man with the knife stabbed the victim several times in the chest and side.  He was rushed to the hospital in extremely critical condition.

The three burglars jumped into a dark colored Camry and sped away, and remain at large.
