Shut up and dribble?
Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich says Fox News host Laura Ingraham needs to just shut up, at least about things she doesn't understand, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
On her Fox News program last week, Ingraham, who is a long time conservative talker, blasted Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James for his comments critical of President Trump, saying at one point, 'keep the political commentary to yourself, just shut up and dribble'."
"To me when I heard about that, it was like an unbelievable show of arrogance, for a talking head to try to tell someone else if they can speak, what they can speak about, and when and where to do it," Pop said in comments at Sunday's Spurs game against James' Cavaliers.
Pop said it was unbelievable to him that Ingraham 'didn't have a feel for who this guy is.'
"He's been a brilliant example for millions of kids," he said. "Especially kids with lesser opportunity who haven't had the same advantages as others."
Pop even compared James to the hero of the super hit movie 'Black Panther.'
James was quoted earlier this month as lamenting that he used to be able to 'gain inspiration,' from the President, but this is a 'bad time' and President Trump 'really doesn't give a f--- about the people.'
Pop says James' comments show people ranging from 'plumbers to astrophysicists to lowly reporters' that they have the right to speak out about issues that they care about, and the First Amendment covers them too.
It probably didn't hurt that James' comments were anti-Trump. Coach Pop has had some choice criticisms for the President as well.
