Windcrest Homeowner Stabs Would-be Home Invasion Robber

Home invasion robbery can be hazardous to your health, as one would-be home invader discovered the hard way early today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police in Windcrest say the man broke into a home in the 8700 block of Tradewind, only to be confronted by the homeowner.

The homeowner stabbed the wanna-be tough guy in the stomach.  He stumbled down the street and was captured after a search of about an hour, which involved calling in the DPS helicopter in to scour the area with its spotlight.

The suspect was arrested at Randolph and Crestway.  He was rushed to SAMMC in critical condition.

The homeowner was not hurt and will not face charges.
