Texas A&M to hire Jimbo Fisher

Jimbo Fisher

Jimbo Fisher says he'll coach the Seminoles in Saturday's regular-season finale against Louisiana-Monroe, and many at the university believe that will be his last game at Florida State. The school thinks he'll leave for Texas A&M and it has already begun the process of vetting potential candidates. Fisher has declined to discuss the situation, but there are reports he has already been given the framework of an upcoming offer. The Aggies are prepared to offer Fisher a deal that would average over $7 million annually. Only Alabama's Nick Saban and Clemson's Dabo Swinney would be higher paid than Fisher if the Texas A&M deal goes through. Fisher has an 83-23 record in eight seasons with the Seminoles and won the 2013 BCS national championship, but FSU needs a victory Saturday to become bowl eligible for a 36th consecutive season.
