A home invasion attempt early today turned into a gunbattle, officials tell News Radio 1200 WOAI.
Deputies were called to a home in the 3500 block of Alonzo Fields in Converse, which is off Foster Road, about 1:35AM Thursday.
They were told that several people had tried to break into the home by kicking down a back door.
But they were confronted by the female homeowner, who was armed with a handgun.
She started firing, the intruders started firing back, and then ran away.
It seems that nobody was hurt in the exchange of gunfire, and detectives are still trying to piece together what happened.
