Bad Guys 0-2 in Wild Police Chases Overnight

Maybe it was the weather, but two separate motorists attempted to elude police by engaging in high speed chases overnight, and the final score was Police 2, Bad Guys 0, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

A woman who was pulled over for speeding near South Park Mall decided to continue speeding, pulling away from a sheriff's deputy as he was at the drive's side window of her car.  She wound through west side streets at speeds of over 90 mph, running through red lights and barely dodging other cars and pedestrians.

Officers managed to box her in near Kentucky and North Elmendorf and she was taken into custody

.Deputies also found a 'controlled substance' in her car, which may have been the reason why she decided to speed away from authorities.

An hour later, a man thought it would be a fantastic idea to try to speed away from a DPS Trooper, and he ended up in cuffs as well.

The chase began near North Zarzamora and Woodlawn on the west side, and sped down Woodlawn until the man got hung up on road construction in Olmos Park and slammed into a telephone pole.

He tried to run away but was captured near the Olmos Park H-E-B.

He will also face charges.
