An argument quickly descended into gunfire on the city's east side overnight, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police were called to the 900 block of Aransas on a report of gunfire about midnight.
When they arrived officers were told that two men got into an argument in front of a house.. One of the men pulled a gun and shot the other man in the head.
The victim, 34, was rushed to the hospital with no vital signs.
The suspect ran off and as not been captured.
