Man Shoots Loud Neighbor in Northwest Side Apartment

We've all been annoyed by the loud apartment neighbor who keeps us up at night, but this is not the best way to handle the problem.

Police tell News Radio 1200 WOAI news that a 55 year old tenant at the Vineyard Village Apartments on Fredericksburg Rd. just south of Callaghan became increasingly annoyed that a man and a woman were arguing loudly in the parking lot.

So the fed up resident, who just wanted to get some sleep at 1:40AM, finally got up, walked to where the couple was arguing outside an apartment and told them to knock it off.

But then, police say the angry tenant pulled a gun and shot the man who was arguing in the left thigh.

The tenant then retreated into his apartment and bolted the door as police arrived.  But after a standoff of a few minutes, the man surrendered and was arrested.

The 29 year old victim, identified as Christian Powell, is in stable condition, with what is described as a non life threatening wound.

The gunman, Hal Adams, is in jail on $75,000 bond on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, where he will probably still have trouble getting some shut-eye.
