PHOTOS/VIDEO: George Strait Live From San Antonio Tonight

George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen will take the stage tonight in San Antonio at the Majestic Theater as part of a National Telethon multicast from Los Angeles, New York, Nashville and San Antonio.

The show will feature celebrities like George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, Justin Timberlake, Dave Matthews, Leonardo DiCaprio and Travis Scott. Other stars expected to participate include Drake, Matthew McConaughey, Dennis Quaid, Jamie Foxx, Ryan Seacrest, Michael Strahan, Kelly Rowland, George Strait, Reese Witherspoon and others will also participate with taped or live messages or staffing phone banks. George will close the show live from San Antonio.

All performers were on hand this afternoon, along with San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg, Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Cavender Auto Group, underwriters of the San Antonio Performance. 

During the press conference Gov Greg Abbott officially declared Tuesday, Sept 12 Hand in Hand Day in the Lone Star State. Cavender Auto Group also presented a donation check of $150,000.

Strait spoke of his love for the Texas Coast – “With efforts like this we’ll be able to get those business back up and running which really needs to happen because it is such a vacation spot.”

Miranda Lambert said it best “Texans are very proud. This is a time when we have to lift each other up in every way possible.”
