HURRICANE HARVEY CLOSURES - Update 8.27.17 2:12PM

All San Antonio schools and offices will be open Monday, Aug. 28, with normal start times.


CITY AND SCHOOL NOTIFICATIONS

City of New Braunfels - Due to expected heavy rainfall from Hurricane Harvey, New Braunfels Police Chief Tom Wibert has ordered the temporary closure of the Comal River and the Guadalupe River inside the city limits of New Braunfels. This closure means both local rivers are closed to all recreation until further notice.

Comal County - District and County courts will be closed Monday, including jury duty.

Cuero ISD -  Determination on Monday closures will be made by 5Pm on Sunday evening.

East Central ISD - Planning to open Monday

Floresville ISD - Monday TBD

Goliad ISD - Closed Monday 

Gonzales ISD -  Closed Monday

Greater San Antonio YMCA's - Closed Saturday and Sunday

Kenedy ISD - Closed  Monday, Aug 28

Luling ISD - Closed Monday

New Braunfels ISD - Closed Monday, Aug 28

Nixon-Smiley ISD - Closed Monday. School resumes Tuesday.

North East ISD - Awaiting decision for Monday.

Pleasanton ISD - Closed Monday.

Poteet ISD - No school Monday. First day of classes on Tuesday.

SAISD - All school activities cancelled for Saturday due to threat of severe weather. Current plans are for SAISD schools/offices to be open Monday.

Seguin ISD - Closed Monday.

Texas A & M University - College Station

- Classes are cancelled tomorrow, Monday, Aug. 28, and Tuesday, Aug. 29;

-- Only essential personnel as identified by their supervisors are required to report to campus if they can do so safely;

-- The Becky Gates Children’s Center will be closed Monday and Tuesday;

-- Dining halls will remain open;

-- On-campus bus service will run from 8 AM to 8 PM;

-- Off-campus bus service is suspended until further notice;

-- The Memorial Student Center will remain open from 8 AM – 7PM;

-- The Student Recreation Center will remain open from 8 AM to 7PM;

-- Student Health Services will remain open from 8 AM to 5 PM with limited staff;

-- The Libraries will be open with limited staff – consult library website.

Texas State University - Classes canceled Monday. Both San Marcos and Round Rock campuses


BUSINESSES

San Antonio Missions National Historic Park - Closed for the Weekend

Schlitterbahn - Closed for the Weekend

SeaWorld and Aquatica - Closed for the weekend.

The University of The Incarnate Word - 

  • The Blessing of the Athletes scheduled for Sunday has been postponed. The event will be rescheduled for a later date.
  • The Women's Soccer game vs. UTSA scheduled for 7 p.m., on Sunday has been cancelled.
  • Welcome Week Mass scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 27 has been cancelled.
  • The Copsicles event scheduled for Monday, Aug. 28 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Student Engagement Center will be postponed.
  • Ribbon Cutting for the Student Engagement Center (SEC) scheduled for Monday, Aug 28 at 10 a.m. is postponed until 4 p.m. The event will be combined with the previously scheduled SEC Blessing event.

The Tobin Center - Clint Black show scheduled for Sunday, Aug 27th has been rescheduled for Wed, Dec 8th - All current tickets will be valid for the new date. Refunds are available for a limited time.

Whitewater Amphitheater - Gary Allan Concert for Saturday Night has been rescheduled for Oct 20th. . All current tickets for the new show will be honored. If you cannot make the new date, please contact the venue or point of purchase by 4 pm on 8/31/17 for a refund

NRG Stadium - Coldplay concert on Friday Canceled.

AIRLINES

Southwest - Customers who are holding reservations to, from, or through AUSTIN, CORPUS, HOUSTON, HARLINGEN, LAKE CHARLES, and SAN ANTONIO on Thursday, August 24, through Sunday, August 27, and want to alter their travel plans, may rebook in the original class of service or travel standby (within 14 days of their original date of travel between the original city-pairs and in accordance with our accommodation procedures) without paying any additional charge.

American - American will work with those headed to AUSTIN, BEAUMONT, BROWNSVILLE, COLLEGE STATIONCORPUS, HOUSTON, HARLINGEN, McALLEN and SAN ANTONIO. Tickets must have been purchased prior to Aug 23  for travel between Aug 25-27 and can be re-booked between Aug 23-30

Delta - Waiving change fees and fare differences for customers in some markets for tickets booked Aug 25-26 and must be rebooked by  Aug 29

Frontier - One time itinerary change for AUSTIN, SAN ANTONIO, HOUSTON and NEW ORLEANS for tickets booked Aug 24-27. Must be re-booked by Sept 18

United - Waiving change fees and fare differences for AUSTIN, BROWNSVILLE, COLLEGE STATION, CORPUS, HARLINGEN, HOUSTON, MCALLEN AND SAN ANTONIO for tickets booked Aug 25-27. Must be re-booked by Aug 30
