Again--Violence Breeds More Violence on West Side Street

The nauseating cycle of violence and retaliation, which is responsible for so much misery in San Antonio, struck again overnight, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say a man in his thirties was shot as he stood next to a car on El Paso Street on the city's west side.

The victim later died at the hospital.

Police think this shooting may be revenge for a shooting Wednesday night in the same block which stemmed from a fight betwen two family groups.

The man who was shot Wednesday night is also in University Hospital.

Police say the man shot overnight may not have even had anything to do with Wednesay night's incident.

Federal charges filed on Thursday show that the shooting death of a four year old boy in an east side home last week was retaliation for an attempt to shoot a known drug dealer earlier in the day.
