Parker Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery

The Spurs announced today that Tony Parker underwent surgery today to repair the ruptured left quadriceps tendon injury he suffered Wednesday night in the playoff game against the Rockets, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The Spurs say the surgery, performed by team doctor David Schmidt, was successful.

The team says it will announce a 'timeline for Parker's return' 'at a later date.'

Dr. Lane Naugher of the San Antonio Orthopaedic Group of San Antonio, who has not examined Parker but is an expert on that type of injury, says he expects the timeline for recovery to be six months to as long as a year.
