Two People Hospitalized After Their Car Slams into the Side of a Moving Train

A 20 year old driver and his 16 year old passenger are hospitalized after police say he drove around the lowered warning arms at the grade crossing in the 6000 block of Rittiman Rd. early today and drive his car right into the side of a moving train, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The engineer apparently didn't know his train had been hit by a car, and the train dragged the car some fifty feet down the tracks.

Both the driver and the passenger are being treated for non life threatening wounds.

Police didn't say whether the driver couldn't see the train in the early morning darkness, and why he drove around the warning arm.
