The Spurs season is over, and Spurs Fans have a fifth NBA Championship title to add to their collection.

On Wednesday fans who attended the River Parade on the Riverwalk saw all five trophies for the first time.

Despite large crowds and the 90 degree Texas heat, fans say they needed to be apart of history.

“When they won, I cried,” one fan told  News Radio 1200 WOAI’s Stephanie Narvaez. “It felt like we were just as much apart of their win as the players were.”

Officials say tens of thousands of fans took part in both the Parade and the Celebration put on in the Alamodome.  The Alamodome was packed to Fire Department capacity by 7:30, 90 minutes before the celebration started.

“I didn’t mind the crowds, it’s more fun to celebrate as a Spurs family than watch it on your TV,” one fan said. “Supporting our team is a city tradition.”

With the season over, fans are already looking on to next year.

“We are all downtown celebrating number five, but all I’m looking forward to is the ‘race for seis.”
