At a time when most San Antonio high schools are getting ready to open, one prominent high school is preparing to close its doors for good.

Rockville High School, which has been a feature of Six Flags Fiesta Texas since the park opened in 1992, will make way for that Six Flags calls 'Rockville urban renewal.'

Rockville has been home to 'Rockin' at Rockville High,' a festival of letter sweaters and poodle skirts which has featured 50s classic concerts.  The performances have been supplemented over the years with 'Reflections and Rockville High,' a 60s show, and 'Groovin at Rockville High,' featuring seventies music.

"Time marches on here at Fiesta Texas, and although we recently retired our car attraction 'Motorama Turnpike,' and now 'Rockin and Rockville High,' exciting additions are coming as we renovate the entire area," Six Flags' Sydne Purvis said.

She says the final 'Rockin' at Rockville High' will take place on September 1.
